The Pelican Craft Centre is located at the lower end of the main city, Bridgetown, near the Bridgetown Port. It is positioned very close to the Bridgetown Cruise Terminal and is, therefore, a quick stop for cruise visitors after disembarking and exiting the Cruise Terminal. It is just as conveniently located for the land-based visitor, since it is on a central access road in the city.
The Pelican Craft Centre has the largest selection of local crafts on the island, ranging from basketry to leathercraft, tobacco and even an art gallery- The Bagnall’s Point Gallery. The extent of the creativity is amazing; in the 25 individual shops you will find local jewelers, weavers and local clothing designers. Each one of the craftspeople will welcome you with open arms and be delighted to show their work. As a bonus, you will have an interesting glimpse of Bajan life.
Whilst some treasures are pursued, others are ventured upon, so make sure to visit some of our talented artists at one of the 14 workshops in the complex. Perhaps, you’ll find a unique treasure as a reminder of our ‘Island in the Sun’ or even be in time to see one of them in the midst of their creative process.
